N2  - Malcolm Walker opened Britain's very first frozen food outlet in 1970, calling it Iceland. By 1999 there were 760 stores and Iceland was a public company. In January 2000 Walker arranged his retirement, sold 4 million Iceland shares and left for a holiday in the Maldives. However, while there Bill Grimsey - Iceland's new CEO - was slashing the profits they were shortly to announce. Ultimately, Iceland announced a loss of 26m - rather than the 130m profit the City was expecting. Having sold his shares just before the company's year-end led to Walker being questioned for three years before he was declared innocent of insider dealing. 5 years after he left, he walked back in as the boss to revive the company
