In this instalment, the couple separate after Anastasia experiences difficulty accepting Christian's romantic past. When she is offered a position at a publishing house in Seattle she accepts, but is left wondering if splitting up with Christian was the right thing to do. Things take an unexpected turn when a hurting Christian turns up in Seattle and convinces Anastasia to resume their relationship on her terms. However, as the couple give their romance another shot, a number of ghosts from Christian's past threaten to ruin their future together once more.
